Science and Business in the Marine City Festival

There is so much more to the Marine City Festival than the wonderful array of arts, food and sporting activity. It is also an opportunity for the city to showcase its business community and depth of marine science expertise.

Conferences, expos and lectures aimed at specific audiences run throughout the week and are designed to bring out the best of Plymouth’s marine and research communities.

Highlights include;

• Oceans of Potential Conference – a two day conference with world leaders in marine research debating the future of the world’s seas and how they need to be managed to best preserve the delicate balance
• Chamber Business Expo – featuring up to 75 businesses from across the city and region with a particular focus on marine expertise. The event will have speakers through the day, opened by Iain Gray, Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board with the keynote speech given by Lord Green, Minister responsible for Trade and Investment.
• International Entrepreneurs Educator Conference  - a presitigous international conference with delegates from around the world arriving in Plymouth to hear about Plymouth University's highly respected Enterprise work.
